XFI has an immediate opportunity for a Requirements Analyst at its headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. The position requires a self motivated and meticulous individual to support XFI's growing portfolio of web-based applications.

As the Requirements Analyst, you'll work with the Product Development Manager to translate business requirements and process flows into functional specifications for software developers. You'll work within existing design patterns and engineering constraints to verbally and visually communicate solutions to our customers and developers.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in business process discovery and modeling
  • Decompose business requirements into established patterns and structures
  • Detail functional behaviors accounting for the dynamic context and variable state within a web application
  • Create and maintain software specifications to communicate product requirements through development and validation
  • Maintain consistent user experience within existing products
  • Clearly communicate and resolve user experience issues, through use cases, scenarios, paper prototypes, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent training
  • Proficient at technical writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytic skills, aggregation/abstraction abilities, and critical thinking

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with wireframes, flowcharts, sitemaps, and other graphical forms of communication
  • Familiarity with visual communication tools, including Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Visio
  • Familiarity with UML/UP
  • Experience with XHTML and other mark up languages
  • Knowledge of usability and information architecture issues and best practices
  • Experience with workflow management
